Ace Hardware to use the weather as a marketing tool | |

Mobile Web -
It’s a clever move and it makes a lot of sense, but fair play to Ace Hardware‘s marketing department. The hardware store’s first adventure into the world of mobile advertising is to be released solely for iPad and uses The Weather Channel‘s forecasting software to help boost sales of winter tools. The campaign, called “Get Your Weekend Back” uses the Weather Channel’s forecast for the user’s region to let them know when there is likely to be snow. The user can then choose from relevant tools to remove the snow (shovel, salt or snow blower) and be presented with pricing information and details on which of the 4,600 Ace Hardware stores is nearest to them. We’ll be hugely surprised if this kind of in-app game marketing doesn’t spread! Of course, in order for any type of mobile advertising to work, you first need to have a strong mobile website for interested people to land on. An incompatible site which does not display properly will turn potential customers away in seconds, so visit our homepage and create a mobile-friendly version of your site now. All you need to do is type your website address into the converter and our patent pending technology will do the rest. We’ll even give you a 7-day free trial! Comments & Reactions |
